Your questions, answered.
Everything people ask me before they book at my private brow and lash studio in Mount Martha, near Mornington: how treatments work, what they cost, how long they last, how healing feels and what to do before and after. If your question isn’t here, text or call me on 0400 368 789, or book a free consultation in person, by video or by phone.
Booking, payment and the studio
The practical things first.
-
I’m a private, appointment-only studio at 20 Shearwater Drive, Mount Martha VIC 3934, on the Mornington Peninsula. There is free on-site parking. Clients come from Mount Martha, Mornington, Mount Eliza, Safety Beach and Dromana.
-
I’m open 7 days by appointment: Monday to Friday 10am to 8pm, Saturday 10am to 5pm and Sunday 10am to 5pm. Evening and weekend appointments are available because I know most people are working during the day.
-
Book online through Fresha using the Book Now button, or text or call me on 0400 368 789 with what you’d like and when suits, and I’ll confirm your appointment by text. Fresha will ask you to create a free account to confirm your booking. Texting me needs no account at all.
-

Yes, and I’d encourage it. Consultations are free, with zero obligation, and you can do them in person, by video or by phone. I’ll look at your features, skin and lifestyle, give you honest advice and suggest a plan. For cosmetic brow tattooing the consultation is part of the process and takes about 45 minutes to an hour.
-
Every appointment starts with a short consultation, even for a brow sculpt. I map your brows or assess your lashes, we agree the shape and finish together, and nothing starts until you’re happy. I use sterile, single-use tools, and you’ll never be rushed or up-sold.
-
Yes. It’s a private home studio with one artist, one client at a time and no walk-ins, so your appointment is unhurried and entirely about you.
-
Life happens. Text or call me on 0400 368 789 as early as you can and I’ll move your appointment to a time that suits. Because I’m a one-artist studio, as much notice as possible helps me offer the time to someone else.
-
Please don’t worry, it happens to all of us. Just call or text me on 0400 368 789 to let me know you’re on your way. If you’ll be more than 15 minutes late, I’ll see whether I can still give you your full treatment, and if I can’t squeeze you in, I’ll happily move you to another time with no charge. I’d always rather give you an unhurried result than a rushed one.
-
No. There’s never a card surcharge at La Signora. I accept all major cards and tap to pay, though PayID is my preferred way to pay.
-
To keep the studio calm, private and safe, I ask that children don’t come along to appointments. I work with fine tools and products close to the eyes, and your treatment deserves my complete focus. If you’d like company for support, one or two adult guests are welcome. Just let me know when you book.
-
Only with your consent. I may ask if I can take before and after photos to record your results, and they will only appear on my website or social media if you’re happy for them to. Saying no never affects your treatment.
-
Yes. Men are very welcome at my private Mount Martha studio for brow sculpts, tints, hybrid brows, lamination, lash lifts, lash tints and cosmetic brow tattooing. I keep the result natural and in proportion to your features, and with one client at a time your appointment is completely discreet.
-
Yes. A La Signora gift voucher is a beautiful present for brows, lashes or cosmetic brow tattooing in Mount Martha. Simply use the Book Now button to purchase one through Fresha, or text me on 0400 368 789 if you’d like a hand.
Cosmetic brow tattooing and nano brows
The modern, hyper-natural way to wake up with brows. Nano brows are my signature treatment, so this is the longest section.
-
Nano brows are a cosmetic brow tattoo technique that uses a digital PMU device and a single ultra-fine needle to draw individual hair-like strokes into the skin, following the direction of your own brow hair. The result is a hyper-natural, feathered brow that looks like real hair, not makeup. It’s the most advanced and gentle hair-stroke technique available today.
-
Microblading cuts hair strokes into the skin with a manual blade. Nano brows implant pigment with a fine digital needle instead, so there is far less trauma to the skin, which means less discomfort, gentler healing and crisper strokes that stay defined as they age. Nano also suits a wider range of skin types, including skin where microblading tends to blur.
-
Nano brows are individual hair strokes for the most natural look. Soft powder brows are a soft, even shading that looks like a light brow powder. Ombré brows are shaded too, but lighter at the front and darker through the tail for a more defined look. Combination brows mix hair strokes at the front with shading through the body and tail. We choose together at your consultation.
-
It depends on your skin, your existing brow hair and the look you want. If you want brows that look like naturally full brows, nano is usually the answer. If you fill your brows with makeup every day and love that polished finish, soft powder or ombré will feel more like you. Oilier skin generally heals more crisply with a shaded finish. I’ll recommend the best fit at your free consultation.
-
Usually, yes. Shaded finishes such as ombré and soft powder heal beautifully on oily skin. Very oily skin is something I check at your consultation, because it can soften hair strokes faster, and I may recommend a shaded or combination finish so your result lasts.
-
Most clients describe it as a light scratching or pressure rather than pain. Because nano uses a fine needle instead of a blade, there is less trauma than microblading, and a topical numbing cream is applied before and during the treatment to keep you comfortable.
-
Allow about 3.5 hours for your first nano, soft powder, ombré or combination brow session. That includes mapping and designing your shape, your approval, numbing, the tattooing itself and going through aftercare. The perfecting session 6 to 8 weeks later takes about 2 hours.
-
Four steps. First, a free consultation where I assess your features, skin type and lifestyle and recommend a finish. Second, your cosmetic brow tattoo session: shape design and approval, then the finish is applied with a digital PMU device. Third, a perfecting session 6 to 8 weeks later to refine shape, density and colour. Fourth, a colour boost around 12 months on to keep them fresh.
-
Yes. Cosmetic brow tattooing is a two-step process. Everyone heals a little differently, so the perfecting session 6 to 8 weeks after your first appointment is where I fine-tune shape, fill any strokes that healed lighter and perfect the colour. Your final result is judged after this session has healed.
-
The surface heals in about 7 to 10 days. Your brows look darker and bolder for the first few days, then lightly flake and soften. Pigment, skin and colour take roughly 4 to 6 weeks to fully settle, which is why the perfecting session is booked at 6 to 8 weeks. I’ll talk you through aftercare in studio and send it to you afterwards.
-
You’ll see a very good indication at 4 to 6 weeks when the colour has settled. The true final result shows once your perfecting session has healed, around 10 to 14 weeks after your first appointment.
-
Nano brows typically last 1.5 to 2.5 years. Skin type, sun exposure, skincare (especially retinoids and exfoliating acids) and lifestyle all affect how long colour holds. A colour boost around 12 months keeps them looking fresh for longer.
-
Nano brows are $699 for your first session (about 3.5 hours). Soft powder brows and ombré brows are $499, and combination brows are $599. Your consultation is free. The perfecting session and later colour boosts are priced by the time since your last session, and I’ll confirm those prices with you at your consultation so there are no surprises.
-
A colour boost is a maintenance session that refreshes colour and definition as your brows naturally soften. I recommend one around 12 months after your first treatment. The session is about 2.5 hours within 12 to 18 months and about 3 hours at 18 to 24 months. After 24 months we start again with a consultation.
-
I can’t tattoo if you’re pregnant or breastfeeding, under 18 (even with consent), have a history of keloid scarring, an active infection, a severe heart condition or a pacemaker. Please check with me first if you have diabetes, an auto-immune or bleeding disorder, epilepsy, chemotherapy or radiation in the past 6 to 12 months, Accutane in the past 6 to 12 months, an active skin condition on the brows, very oily skin, or you use blood thinners, retinoids or strong exfoliants. Some of these can still proceed with medical clearance or the right technique and timing.
-
Often, yes, provided the old work has faded enough and the shape allows it. Send me a clear, makeup-free photo of your brows before your consultation and I’ll assess it honestly. Very dark or saturated old work may need to fade or be lightened first.
-
Arrive with clean, makeup-free brows. For a week beforehand, don’t wax, pluck, thread or tint your brows so I can see your natural growth. Avoid alcohol, caffeine and blood-thinning medications or supplements such as aspirin, ibuprofen and fish oil for 24 to 48 hours before, and avoid sunburn, chemical peels and retinoids on the area for two weeks before. If you take prescribed medication, keep taking it and let me know.
-
Keep your brows clean and dry for the first 7 to 10 days, apply only the aftercare I give you, and don’t pick or scratch any flaking. Avoid makeup on the brow area, heavy sweating, swimming, saunas and direct sun for about two weeks. Long term, sunscreen on your brows and keeping retinoids and acids off them will help your colour last.
-
Yes. Every brow is mapped to your bone structure and features and designed with you before I start, and nothing is tattooed until you approve the shape. Nano strokes follow your own hair pattern, so healed brows look like naturally fuller brows rather than drawn-on ones.
-
Yes. A brow sculpt keeps the hair around your tattooed shape tidy, and you can still have your natural hair tinted. Brow lamination is also possible once you’re fully healed. I’ll advise what suits your healed result.
-
Yes, when it’s done properly. I use sterile, single-use needles and tools, a digital PMU device and professional pigments, and your medical history is reviewed at your consultation before anything goes ahead. I trained at Queen Brows Academy in Melbourne under master educator Heidi Karimi and hold certifications in Nano Brows & Shading, Combination Brows and Ombré & Soft Powder Brows.
-
Yes. Nano brows were made for sparse, over-plucked or thinning brows, including brows that have thinned with age or after illness. Hair strokes rebuild the look of hair where there is none, and a combination finish adds soft density behind them if you want more fullness.
-
Every cosmetic brow tattoo at La Signora, whether nano, soft powder, ombré or combination brows, includes your free consultation, personalised brow mapping and design approval before anything begins, premium pigments matched to your skin and hair, sterile single-use needles, topical numbing throughout, an aftercare kit with written aftercare instructions, and support by phone or text while you heal. Your perfecting session 6 to 8 weeks later is booked separately, and I’ll confirm its price at your consultation.
-
Nothing begins until you’ve seen and approved your brow design, and your perfecting session is there to fine-tune shape, density and colour once you’ve healed. Cosmetic brow tattooing is semi-permanent and softens gradually over 1.5 to 2.5 years, so shape and colour can be adjusted at a colour boost as your style changes. If you ever wanted pigment lightened or removed, I’m happy to refer you to a trusted removal specialist.
-
Yes, with a little planning. La Signora specialises only in brows and lashes, so I don’t offer injectables or facials, but if you have them with another clinic, timing matters. Leave at least 4 weeks between anti-wrinkle injections or filler around the brows and forehead and your cosmetic brow tattoo, as they can change how your brows sit. Avoid chemical peels, laser and microneedling on the brow area for 2 weeks before, and wait until your brows have fully healed, about 4 to 6 weeks, before having any of these treatments afterwards. Please mention any recent treatments when you book.
The Brow Bar: sculpt, tint, hybrid brows and lamination
Everyday brow treatments, mapped to your face.
-
A brow sculpt maps your features and bone structure, then shapes and tidies your brows (30 minutes, $25). Brow sculpt & tint adds a custom tint or hybrid dye to deepen and define the hair (45 minutes, $40). Brow lamination lifts, sets and sculpts the brow hairs for a full brushed-up finish, either with no tint (1 hour, $85) or with sculpt and tint or hybrid dye (1 hour 15 minutes, $115).
-
Hybrid brows use a hybrid dye in place of a standard tint. It deepens and defines the brow hair and leaves a soft, polished, fuller-looking finish. You can choose it with a brow sculpt ($40) or with brow lamination and sculpt ($115).
-
Around 6 to 8 weeks, depending on how quickly your brow hair grows. The tint or hybrid colour softens a little sooner than the lift. Good aftercare in the first 24 hours makes a real difference to how long the brushed-up shape holds.
-
For the first 24 hours keep them completely dry: no water, steam, sweat, swimming or sauna, and no makeup or creams on the brows. After that, brush them into place each morning with a clean spoolie, avoid oil-based cleansers and heavy facial oils on the brow area, and wear sunscreen on high-sun days.
-
Not when it’s done properly and not repeated too often. Lamination gently restructures the hair, so I leave at least 6 to 8 weeks between treatments and use a nourishing finish. If your brows feel dry, I’ll suggest waiting a little longer and caring for them with a brow oil.
-
Yes, and it’s one of the best treatments for both. Lifting the hairs upward and outward covers gaps and makes brows look fuller, and setting unruly hairs in place means they finally stay where you brush them.
-
Most clients book a brow sculpt or sculpt & tint every 4 to 6 weeks, and brow lamination every 6 to 8 weeks. I’ll suggest a rhythm that suits your hair growth and how defined you like to look.
-
Let your brows grow for at least a week beforehand, so no waxing, plucking or threading, which gives me the most hair to shape. Arrive with clean, makeup-free brows and keep retinoids, exfoliating acids and scrubs off the brow area for a few days before. If you’ve had a brow tattoo in the past 4 weeks, please let me know before booking lamination.
-
It depends on your brows. If they’re naturally dark and full, lamination and sculpt on its own ($85) gives a beautifully lifted, groomed finish. If they’re fair, sparse in places or you’d like more definition, adding a tint or hybrid dye ($115) deepens every hair so the shape looks fuller and more polished. I’ll give you my honest advice at your appointment.
Lash Artistry: lash lifts and tints
Your own lashes, lifted and tinted. No extensions, no mascara, no maintenance.
-
A lash lift curls, lifts and sets your natural lashes up and out from the root, so your eyes look instantly more open and awake. Adding a tint darkens and defines them from root to tip for a fuller, mascara-free look. It takes about an hour and lasts around 6 to 8 weeks.
-
Around 6 to 8 weeks. The lift follows your natural lash cycle, so it fades gradually as your lashes shed and regrow, and there is nothing to maintain in between visits.
-
Lash lift $80 (45 minutes), lash lift & tint $99 (1 hour) and lash tint $35 (30 minutes). You pay in studio after your treatment by card, tap to pay or PayID.
-
No. A lash lift works with your own natural lashes, with nothing added. There are no extensions, no glue, no infills and no maintenance, just 100% your own lashes, lifted and curled.
-
For the first 24 hours keep your lashes dry and don’t touch them: no water, steam, sweat, swimming, eye makeup or sleeping face-down. After that, you can wear mascara if you like (avoid waterproof formulas), and oil-free cleansers around the eyes will help the lift last.
-
Yes, after the first 24 hours, though most clients find they no longer need it. If you do, choose a non-waterproof mascara and remove it gently.
-
Yes. A lift works on your lash length, not against it, so even short or very straight lashes look longer and more open once they’re curled from the root. It’s especially lovely on hooded or downturned eyes, because lifting from the root lets your lashes sit above the lid crease and visibly opens the eye. I choose the shield size to suit your lashes and the look you want.
-
Every 6 to 8 weeks, once the previous lift has grown out. Lifting too soon can over-process the lashes, so I’ll always check they’re ready.
-
Usually, yes. Tell me when you book if you have sensitive skin, eye conditions or a history of reactions to hair dye or adhesives, and we’ll talk it through at your consultation and arrange a patch test if needed.
-
Only if I decide you need one at your consultation or before your treatment. I assess every client first, and if anything in your history, skin or eyes suggests you could react to a lash lift, tint or lamination product, I’ll arrange a patch test before we go ahead. Your safety always comes first, so please tell me about any allergies, sensitivities or previous reactions to hair dye or lash products when you book.
-
Arrive with clean lashes, free of mascara, eyeliner and oily eye creams, and don’t curl your lashes on the day. If you wear contact lenses, bring your case or glasses, as lenses need to come out during the treatment. If you’ve had a lash lift elsewhere in the past 6 to 8 weeks, let me know so I can check your lashes are ready.
-
If your lashes are naturally dark right to the tips, a lift on its own ($80) may be all you need. If your tips are lighter or you’d like a mascara-like finish, adding a tint ($99) deepens them from root to tip and makes the lift far more noticeable. Most of my clients choose both.
-
Not when it’s done properly. A lash lift temporarily reshapes your own lashes until they grow out naturally. Damage comes from over-processing or lifting too often, which is why I assess your lashes first, time each step to your lash type and space lifts 6 to 8 weeks apart.
-
Yes, with your GP’s consent. Lash lifts, lash tints and brow lamination are available during pregnancy and while breastfeeding, as long as you have medical consent from your GP. Hormonal changes can make results less predictable and skin more sensitive, so I’ll talk you through what to expect before we begin. A brow sculpt is perfectly fine throughout, while cosmetic brow tattooing waits until after you’ve finished breastfeeding.

About Vasilka and the studio
One artist, one face at a time.
-
Me, Vasilka. I’m the founder and the only artist at La Signora, so the person you speak to is the person who maps, designs and does your brows and lashes, every time.
-
I hold a Bachelor of Science from the University of Melbourne, majoring in anatomy and psychology, and completed my cosmetic brow tattoo and lash training at Queen Brows Academy in Melbourne under master educator Heidi Karimi. I’m certified in Brow & Lash Mastery, Nano Brows & Shading, Combination Brows, and Ombré & Soft Powder Brows.
-
Because you get the artist’s full attention. Every appointment starts with a consultation, every brow is mapped to your face rather than a template, and I never rush, up-sell or hand you a cookie-cutter arch. Sterile, single-use tools and a quiet, private room come as standard.
-
Yes, I speak several languages. If English isn’t your first language, let me know when you book and we’ll make sure you feel completely comfortable.
